Special Interest

Reproductive endocrinology and fertility medicine for male and female patients.
Including: PCOS, Turner’s/Klinfelter’s Syndromes, Kallman’s Syndrome Hypothalamic amenorrhoea, menopause, premature ovarian insufficiency and medical management of endometriosis. Dr Behan also manages thyroid, benign adrenal conditions and pituitary endocrinology.

Dr. Behan specialises in general fertility investigation and management including medical ovulation induction, spermatogenesis induction and cycle monitoring.

Experience

Dr. Behan is a Consultant Endocrinologist in Tallaght University Hospital and Trinity Medical School, where she is developing a specialist reproductive endocrinology unit.

During her specialist training she completed an MD thesis on glucocorticoid replacement in hypopituitarism.

In 2014 Dr. Behan completed a fellowship programme in reproductive endocrinology and infertility medicine through the department of gynaecology in University of Toronto.

She has published her original research in pituitary, adrenal and fertility endocrinology in peer reviewed journals.

Dr. Behan currently runs the membership examinations on behalf of the RCPI in Tallaght University Hospital and is on the board of examiners.
