Experience

Dr. Sarmad Waqas completed his specialist training in Ireland in 2019 and since has been working as a Consultant in Infectious Diseases and General Medicine. He was appointed at Tallaght Hospital as the first consultant in the speciality of Infectious Diseases in 2022 and was working as a consultant in St. Vincent’s University Hospital Dublin before that.

He is currently leading the Tallaght Hospital OPAT (Out-Patient Antimicrobial Therapy) program that encompasses treatment of complicated infections of a person at their home with intravenous antimicrobials. 

Dr. Waqas has published his research and academic work in numerous peer reviewed medical journals and has presented in multiple National and International Scientific Meetings.
