Please note that ALL blood-test attendances in TUH are by appointment only and are for adults over the age of 16. If you are attending the Hospital for blood tests ordered by your GP or TUH Out-patient Clinic (“Hospital Bloods”), then you must book your appointment via SwiftQueue.

The Phlebotomy Department offers two types of services with opening times as follows:

Opening Hours

  • GP Referral Service: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4pm
  • Out-Patient Clinic Referral Service: Monday to Friday 8am to 4:45pm

Once you have booked your appointment and you arrive in the Hospital for your blood test remember to Check-in at the Kiosks on way to the Phlebotomy Clinic, this lets us know that you have arrived. You can use the buttons below to make your appointment.

  • You must have Tallaght University Hospital request forms signed by your GP to avail of this service
  • Please confirm with your GP if you are required to fast for your blood test
  • You may have sips of water during your fast
  • Check with your GP if you should take your medication before your blood test

Adult Out Patient BloodsAdult Out-Patient (“Hospital Bloods”) Blood Tests
Please click on the green button to make an appointment for the Out-Patient Blood Service in TUH.

Adult Out-Patient Blood Tests must be booked in advance of arriving at the Phlebotomy Clinic. 

  • If you have received TUH blood order forms it is important to bring them with you
  • If you have been advised to have bloods done in a letter for a clinic then make your appointment via SwiftQueue
  • Confirm with your Clinic if you are required to fast for your blood test
  • You may have sips of water during your fast
  • Check with your Clinic if you should take your medication before your blood test

Check-in at Kiosk
When you arrive in the Hospital you need to check in at the Kiosks on way to Phlebotomy Clinic in the Rynd Suite up to 15 minutes before your appointment time. When you have checked in, please take a seat in the Rynd Suite and wait for your name to be called. 

Please Note: You cannot register earlier than 30 minutes before your appointment time.

The Adult Phlebotomy (Blood Tests) Department is now located in the Rynd Suite which is located on the ground floor of the Hospital.

Directions

  • When you come through the main hospital entrance, walk past the information desk.
  • Turn left just after the lifts.
  • Walk down to the end of this long corridor where there are two check-in kiosks.
  • Check-in to confirm your attendance for your blood test appointment.
  • Then turn right on to corridor and take the first turn left into the Rynd Suite.
