The Emergency Response Team may do further tests such as blood tests. They may use special equipment to monitor you and treat your condition, for example a heart monitor and oxygen. Most of the patients who are seen on the wards by the Emergency Response Team improve within a short time. If your condition does not improve the Emergency Response Team will help your team of doctors and nurses to decide if you need to be moved to a specialised unit for more advanced treatment for example the Intensive Care Unit.
