Transition Discharge Lounge

The Transition / Discharge Lounge deals with the needs of patients who are awaiting admission to the Hospital and those who are awaiting discharge from the Hospital. The Lounge has 10 armchairs for patient use while waiting.

Location

The Lounge is located on the Ground Floor of the hospital, take a right at Reception and it is the first room on your left opposite the Cardiology Reception desk.

Opening times 

7.30am – 8.30pm Monday – Friday

Day of Discharge

Day of Discharge In the lounge patients receive:

  • Patient discharge summary
  • Prescriptions, Notes for work
  • Social Welfare Certs
  • Administer last doses of IV Antibiotics / Medications
  • Change of Dressings

Patients must be collected no later than 8pm. If you are collecting a patient you can park in the multi-storey car park. If you have a disabled parking permit there are spaces outside the front door if these are occupied there are also a number of spaces on the ground floor of the multi-storey car park.  Wheelchairs are available to wheel patients upon discharge to the car park.

Patient Meal Times

 Patient Meal Times The Lounge can provide limited catering for patients during their time in the lounge, patients will be offered Tea, Coffee and light snacks.
