(October 7th 2026) The Board of Tallaght University Hospital has announced the appointment of Mr. Dermot Carter as Interim Chief Executive Officer following the departure of Ms. Barbara Keogh Dunne who is leaving to take up a new position as CEO of Beaumont Hospital.
Professor Anne Marie Brady, Chairperson of the TUH Board acknowledged the contribution to the organisation of Barbara Keogh Dunne during her time as CEO: "Throughout her tenure, Barbara has demonstrated exceptional dedication and energy. On behalf of the Board, staff and wider community, we thank her for her significant contribution and wish her every success in the future."
Dermot Carter brings extensive experience to the position, having served as a member of the Executive Management Team as Chief Financial Officer for 13 years. He has played a key role in supporting the strategic development and operational management of the organisation and will provide continuity of leadership during the transition period.
In the interim, Mr David Addie will assume responsibility as Chief Financial Officer and will serve on the Executive Management Team in an acting capacity.
