(June 17th 2024) Due to the increase in COVID and Norovirus illness in recent days Tallaght University Hospital has introduced restricted visiting. Unfortunately the Hospital will remain closed to visitors with the exception of prior arrangement with a patient’s medical team in the circumstances of end of life or critical illness.
Please note this includes no visiting anywhere on the Hospital campus i.e. inside or outside the Hospital / Car Park. This is to protect our patients, their families and our staff. Visitors that attempt to visit will be turned away by security.
The Hospital will run a Patient Care Package service for patient’s families to drop or collect items from a patient. This service will run from 2pm-4pm daily. Outside of these hours please go to main reception and they will contact the Ward directly.
“We regret the introduction of these measures, but they are necessary for patient and staff safety as the Hospital continues to manage a number of positive and suspected positive COVID-19 combined with cases of norovirus.
Outpatient clinics are not impacted, we would ask anyone who is due to attend the Hospital for an appointment, does not to attend if they have any symptoms of vomiting, diarrhoea, COVID-19 or Influenza or have been in contact with anyone with COVID-19. The Hospital want to thank the public for their ongoing support of our efforts to keep Covid and Norovirus out of our Hospital.”
Please note activity and the Operations at Children’s Health Ireland at Tallaght are not impacted by this announcement.
